O decreto No. 24.257 de 16 de
maio 1934 modificou as características das
moedas de 2000 réis e a composição das moedas de bronze-alumínio de 500 e
1000 réis. O decreto também autorizou a cunhagem de moedas com os valores de 500,
1000 e 2000 mil réis com as efígies de
Brasileiros
ilustres. A moeda
de 500 réis tem o
busto de António
Diogo Feijó
(1784-1843),
regente do Brasil
de 1835 a 1837. A
moeda de 1000 réis
tem o busto de
Padre José
Anchieta
(1534-1597),
missionário. E a
moeda de prata de
2000 réis tem o
busto de Marechal
Luiz Alves de Lima,
duque de Caxias
(1803-1880),
comandante das
tropas do Imperador
do Brasil. En 1936
a casa de moeda
começou cunhar uma
série completa com
Brasileiros
ilustres. Eu acho
que estas 3 moedas
do ano 1935 são
diferentes do que
as moedas da
série cunhada a
partir de 1936. A
moeda de 500 réis
1935 tem uma
tiragem de 14.000
peças só. As
moedas de 1000 réis
de 1935 têm um
módulo maior do
que as moedas
cunhadas a partir
de 1936. As moedas
de 2000 réis de
1935 são cunhadas
en prata enquanto
as moedas de 2000 réis
cunhadas a partir
de 1936 foram
cunhadas en bronze
alumínio dum tipo
totalmente
diferente. As autorias foram de três
ex-alunos de gravador Girardet: Walter Rodriques Toledo (sigla WT), Calmon
Barreto de Sá Carvalho (sigla CB) e Leopoldo Alves de Campo (sigla LC).
Decreet Nr. 24.257 van 16 mei 1934 regelde da aanpassing van de munten van 2000 réis en de aanpassing van de samenstelling

complete nieuwe
serie munten met
